About Modoline Altenor

BIO
Modoline Altenor was born in Manhattan, New York, but by the age of four began calling Florida, home. She is married to her most loving and supportive husband, Evans Altenor, and on July 25, 2018, they will be celebrating 8 years of marriage. In 2016, God blessed them with their first most charming baby boy, Evans Altenor Jr (EJ), who is 2 years old. Baby Ej has placed his request for a baby sister by sticking his little bottom in the air day after day (we as Haitians understand this is how babies ask for another baby), but EJ will have to wait a little while longer. Growing up, education was pivotal and the foundation of Modoline’s upbringing. Having gone through the magnet program at Seminole high school graduating Magna cum lade, her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida, years later obtaining her Masters of Business Administration, and lastly her Juris Doctorate degree from the Florida State University School of Law, she knew her mission was to help her community and help the powerless. Upon graduating from law school, she gained the opportunity to work for a large well-known personal injury firm. Very passionate about her work, she was able to recover over $1 million in her first few months of practice. After having her son in 2016, Modoline made the decision to open her own law firm, Law Office of Modoline Altenor, PA. Little did she know this would pave the way for her to continue the work she began at the early age of 12, becoming an advocate for literacy. Nearly 1 billion people across the globe are illiterate. The good thing is, unlike many other concerns that plague our children, there is a cure. Modoline’s Hope Foundation is focused on helping all children live their best life through literacy via education, inspiring hope in children that tend to get forgotten or left behind, raising funds to building schools across our borders, and placing books in the hands of children. Through her partnership with BuildOn, a national and international organization, her goal is to create a world where all children are given the power to read and write. As Mrs. Haiti International 2018, her work in literacy continues both nationally and internationally. Please join me in fighting the number one issue that plagues our children, literacy.
